This easy salad dressing will bring your salad game up to the next level!
Ingredients:
You’ll just need a few ingredients to make this dressing including:
Olive Oil
Red wine vinegar
Shallot
Maple syrup: Use 100% maple syrup, not pancake syrup!
Dijon mustard
Seasonings: just a little salt and pepper.
The process:
You’ll have this salad dressing ready to serve in just a few steps:
First, finely dice your shallot.
Then, add all of your ingredients to a bowl and blend with an immersion blender until the ingredients have combined into a smooth dressing. If you do not own an immersion blender, you can use a blender cup or whisk vigorously and then shake your dressing prior to serving.
Pair with salads, dips, or veggies and enjoy!
LTN Note: I highly recommend buying an immersion/hand held blender for salsa, dips, soups, and other recipes like this one. Here is the exact immersion blender that I use!
Swaps and substitutions:
There are a few modifications that you can make to this dressing including:
Shallot: If you do not have a shallot, you can finely dice some white or red onion instead.
Sweetener: While it will change the flavor profile of the dressing, you can use honey if you don’t have maple syrup on hand.
Seasonings: Add or remove seasonings to your taste preference or that will better pair with your salad.
Change how you serve it: I love to serve this maple dijon dressing with my kale and beet salad but it would pair well with a fall salad or other goats cheese salads.
Recipe FAQ:
How do I store homemade salad dressing?
This dressing should be placed into an air tight container and refrigerated.
How long can I store this dressing in the refrigerator for?
I recommend storing homemade salad dressings in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.
Help, my dressing keeps separating!
I recommend making this salad dressing with an immersion blender and blending it for about 1 minute or until the dressing is combined. This will prevent the salad dressing from separating and if you notice the oil does separate out, continue to blend.
If you do not own an immersion blender, you can blend this dressing in the blender or whisk vigorously until the ingredients are combined. If you notice that they are separating, shake the dressing bottle to combine and serve immediately.
