As a registered dietitian, I’m constantly thinking of ways that I can add a bit more nutrition to meals and snacks, and one of the biggest places of opportunities is in dips, dressings, sauce, and spreads!

While adding nutrition to condiments for meals and snacks may sound like a great idea, it’s important to add those nutrients without sacrificing flavor and enjoyment of your meal all together. You need to find recipes that add both flavor and nutrition.

That’s why I absolutely love this creamy cilantro avocado yogurt dip because it checks the box on both nutrition AND flavor. With protein packed yogurt, healthy fats from avocados, and fresh cilantro flavors, this yogurt dip may quickly become the star of your meal or snack time show!

Recipe FAQ:

  1. Do I need to use greek yogurt?

    1. No, you can use unflavored regular yogurt as well. One thing to note is that greek yogurt is thicker and creamier than regular yogurt so using regular yogurt will thin out your consistency.

  2. What is a good greek yogurt substitute?

    1. If you do not like greek yogurt, you can swap it out for regular yogurt, cottage cheese, or even silken tofu if you are looking for a vegan option.
